Scary Online Security Mistakes to Avoid

Online security issues and hackers are not really new to any forms of web set up. It is in fact one of the major problems that people work and rely on online businesses, or any other transactions around the world. As technology advances, these “cyber-terrorists” and other hackers play along too, but numbers and series of remedies and work out solutions has all been laid out promptly to address such issues.

From the very basic usage of our own computer networks and online jobs, are where we start in tagging along simple mistakes that leads us to vulnerability of some random attackers and their cybercrime acts. These are some simple mistakes we get to encounter each and every time, we randomly click on some questionable links without further checking on it. Sometimes it could lead us into other sites and get to download malwares to our own personal system, which could get access to our private files.

Downloading casual software and antivirus, unknown files and unverified updates, can infect the entire system in a snap. Sometimes we have to be very vigilant in terms of making sure our own network is secured, by trying to learn and verify information. We have to understand that hackers know how to get us on their game by giving us some random pop-ups and update requirements, false advertisement and any other forms to allure us to get into them.

0ne of the easiest way we can get attackers is if we use weak passwords. As per highly recommended, do not use short and simple passwords, not necessarily too long and too complicated. It has been known that online attackers is just a download away into exposing what your password is. It has been highly approved to use alphanumeric and special characters too, like ampersand, pound sign and many more.

Giving out information and posting it online is another huge mistakes, like exposing some personal information and not business related. If the intention is to market, it is understandable that we make room for business only, meaning, no personal information is attached into it that allows you to be publicized, examples are: only the office phone number, not your personal number or the office complete address not your own personal address.

Another thing to look into is, we should not just randomly answer unverified emails, such as asking you to contact them, or asking you to click on some links, asking you to answer some questions and surveys, asking to watch “this” video, or telling you you’ve won a lottery when in fact you didn’t play into anything. Online scammers are not new to us, indulging ourselves into their traps is the end of the game. As soon as you receive one, delete it immediately.

Lack of knowledge and poor judgement can sometimes attract attackers. We all are using internet, we have to have at least the very basic knowledge of the most common mistakes, that majority of the online and network users get to encounter. We have to read and understand these common mistakes, which surprisingly are still mistakes at this very age. Learn from others and knowledge is power. And one most important reminder for us that considered to be the most common mistakes as online users, is never think that these things will never happen to you. It is better to be paranoid but not too paranoid, rather than you being too confident that you will never be a victim of any cybercrimes or of any forms. The whole point is, make yourself ready, secured and protected, in the end, you will be the one to benefit the entire process in keeping things safe.
